OUR STORY
Our founder, Tom Mayclin started Mayclin Dental Studio in 1966. In 1988, a group of local pediatric dentist in the twin cities metro area approached Tom and tasked him to develop a durable and esthetically faced stainless steel crown. There was only one crown on the market at the time, which was faced with a porcelain material. Porcelains are porous, discolor quickly and are brittle. Tom went a different route and developed our proprietary bond and layering technique for a composite to stainless steel. Since the original Kinder Krown was introduced to the market, several years ago, materials have improved and our manufacturing process has been refined.
In 2010, we began research and development on Zirconia Kinder Krowns. After several months of beta tests, we officially launched our zirconia line at the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry meeting in 2012.
